The day I finally went back to my hometown I was relieved to see the same old familiar faces and structures that I remembered from my childhood. That same week the annual Carnival was going on and walked over to the plaza to join it, the first thing I saw was some wanna be local cholos chilling in a group and another group in the other side I thought there was going to be a rumble or something but then the band up on stage started playing CUCUCUmbia and both groups stared battling each other to the traditional El Gavilan Dance. It was a fucking Cholo Dance off. Epic. Check out this mini doc on where this style of dancing came from, Puro MTY. Enjoy.
