Que tiene de malo pues? a lot of people like corridos it’s a huge part of our culture but a lot of people want to negate that and pretend like they don’t enjoy that good old sound of the according and tuba. Personally I have been listening to corridos since I was a small child, My aunt would blast in ther oldschool juke box songs by Antonio Aguilar the corridos obviously and I would sing or pretend to sing to all of them. I like the stories and the feeling you get when you listen to them, even if you don’t live what that song says, you don’t live half of the shit many of this songs talk about any ways just relax and enjoy the music.
Corridos monday is here once more with a song from Grupo 360 called Dos Jovenes Muchachos. The song is straight to the point talking about the sons of one of the biggest drug lords in Mexico, you know who they are. Anyways if you like this section remember you can hear all of our chosen corridos from the past by visiting this link CORRIDOS MONDAY, thanks again for the love and support.
CORRIDOS MONDAY: GRUPO ESCOLTA NO PASA NADA
And it’s back, my bad sorry raza for not keeping up with this marvelous blog. I have been focusing al cien on becoming a pro indoor soccer player. Pero ni pedos aqui estamos echandole ganas a la unica marca chingona que se llama DIMEX. El corrido de hoy is called No pasa nada by El Grupo Escolta, a pretty simple catchy rolita that has been hitting the radio waves for a while now. Chekalo.
CORRIDOS MONDAY: TITO TORBELLINO PEDRON ANTRAX
I haven’t been a huge fan of Tito but started listening to some of his hits after finding out he got murdered last week while eating in a restaurant. He had a huge following and smashing the radio waves with this song and others. Rest in peace Tito your fans will miss you for sure.
REGULO CARO EL ESCUDO DEL CHAVO is his new music video released last week, probably one of the coolest corrido videos made. The footage looks raw and gritty and it looks like these foos are learning how to act better hehe. In this video they talk about the same dude in the song El Muchacho De La Barba by Codigo FN. Anyways check it out and let me know what you think.
Gerardo Ortiz Quien se anima is the third single in his new album Archivos de Mi Vida. Check out the new music video filled with bomb girls and some of the sickest rides/mansions, woah. The song is pretty cool I feel that it talks about a dude that has been around the cartel game since he was a kid and has finally made it to the top after putting in a lot of work and learned from the main guys first hand about the enterprise. Enjoy.
A lot of corridos are changing, they are singing more about how these characters grew up, where they grew up and why they were inspired to become what they are. Many talk about having no option of going to school, barely having enough food to eat for the family, selling oranges by the road at age 6-7 some true poverty. Personally we are all in the trying to make it game whether you are trying to get that job that will keep you comfortable for life or starting your own empire and striking it big like that. Many of these corridos now are about this, check out Mi Humilde Imperio by Grupo Arranke.
Los Traviezoz de la sierra has to be my new favorite norteno group. Mi pasado mi presente talks about a guy who went through a lot of hurdles early in his life barely getting enough money to eat, then one day a guy asked him for a favor and everything change after that. Their songs are pretty well written, some of my favorite songs are this one and “Mis Travesuras”. Check them out and tell me what you think
A couple of days ago I finished another design of what was supposed to be from the Halloween collection, this time it’s an illustration of El Senor De Los Cielos – Amado Carrilo Fuentes. He’s wearing bandages all over his face since he died during a plastic surgery leaving his face deformed, I was going to add some blood and shit but don’t know yet. He either faked his own death and escaped and is chilling somewhere in Sinaloa or he just simply died, with these foos who knows what the heck happened. Also there’s a cool special on his story On Univision this Sunday, the clips look pretty good so far. Anyways here’s the Illustration, what should I do with it? Nose. Check out the trailer after the jump, thanks.
Corridos Monday El Komander Leyenda M1, once more a corrido about Manuel Torres Felix that got killed on 13 October 2012 by the Mexican Army. This song talks about his death and how he lived his life who he served and how he fought back before being taken out. When his son Atanasio was killed by rival gang members of the Beltrán-Leyva Cartel in 2008, Torres Félix reportedly lost his mind and went on a killing spree, torturing the perpetrators at his home in Culiacán. This earned him the nickname of “El Ondeado” (‘The Crazy One’) for his emotional instability and explosive personality.. Todays corrido has a pretty cool Banda + Norteno combination that goes together very well, miralo.
Negro Y Azul by Los Cuates De Sinaloa taking it far. So I stumbled upon this little presentation of Los Cuates on the late night show Conan. I guess he had the whole cast of the sickest show Breaking Bad and closed off the show with the Negro Y Azul Corrido written for Walter White. Corridos are freaking everywhere, who would of ever thought that a Mexican group would ever make it to a late night show on American TV. Ay Nomas!!
DIMEX LOOK: CHALINO is probably one of the cleanest shirts I have designed, the details are pretty good and guess what you get a shirt with Chalino that looks like him. What best way to enjoy this shirt but with un bote de Tecate “El Gallo De Sinaloa” bumping really loud in the background while letting some shots off to the air with your custom made Beretta pistol. No mames, ni yo me la creo. Anyways check out this sick shirt online and place an order today for you, your friend or Novio. Sales.
Traileros: Narco Culture is something we covered a couple of days ago when I posted 10 minutes of footage for this new documentary that is soon to hit the theaters. It’s the cruel reality of a lifestyle that has been in full effect since the 90’s revolving around the Regional Mexican Music Genre called Corridos. This trailer shows where this lifestyle is at the moment both in the USA and in Mexico. Check out the showing times and more info about the film and make sure to go out and see it and support this film. Enjoy.
Chalino tshirt coming soon to our online store. We have been working on several designs regarding the narco corrido culture for a while now and decided to come out with a new el Rey del corrido tshirt along with the re-stock of the old El Pelavacas tshirt. Stay tuned for news and updates and make sure to pick up the shirt as soon as it hits the shop cause it will go fast. Thank you.
Brand New product added to the online store. Escudo de Sinaloa, based on the Sinaloan Coat of Arms I decided to mess with the meaning and iconography a little bit. If you want to know the real meaning behind all of these small icons in their coat of arms you inform your self on Wikipedia. But In my version the meanings are different and will be uploading an audio talking about the concept behind the design and printing process in a couple of days. I’n not sure if I’m starting a mini video podcast or just audio but am heading that way, just a heads up. I hope you like it and if you would like your state to be represented on a DIMEX shirt hit me up. Sales.
What up guys I am on time today for the “Corridos Monday” post, ahuevo. My homie Julio said that there’s this new trio called Los Hijos del Barron and that they are sick (he mentioned them since we were talking about Jesus Ojeda) he was saying that Los hijos were from his home town and that his family knew them. Yesterday on my way home from the Swap Meet I was listening to La QUE BUENA and this Corrido came on, told my girl to keep it quiet since I wanted to hear the song, and i’m not gonna lie but the dude playing Bajo sexto is sick. I like the song and couldn’t get it out of my head for the rest of the night, I don’t know why, but anyways here’s the song and hope you like it. Fierro!
Ranchero Y Gallardo is one of those corridos about horses, yes I said horses. Believe it or not it’s a luxury owning a horse, nothing like having your own dog or something like it, this is a huge fucking animal. Frison horses are some of the most beautiful horses in the world and in the narco world these are the ones they like the most. Check out El Komander singing Ranchero Y Gallardo.
