Friday-Was A Good Day

Friday was a beautiful day, the air was cool and my front yard looked great, gracias “JEFE”.  The water made the grass look like it had just been cut and the plants made me feel like I was in the jungles of Tikal again.

I was ready to leave to work when I decided to archive this nice day, jeje.  Got in the dopest car my SCION and started the engine for a quick warm up.

Then I noticed I was running late, again. Aghhh.

Got to the office to find my newly purchased GI Joe Figurine for inspiration “wink wink” chillin’ there.   Aghh I looks sick.

PUt my stuff on the side like always, to begin the daily grind.

After a while me and the crew decided to get a coffee break as usual to catch up on the news and to talk about different work related concepts (Riiiigggght)There’s my little mug I bought in my last trip to Guaymas, Sonora.

During our lunch break we went to Toys R’ Us first before eating.

Here’s the crew well part of it, there’s two more guys missing, they are showing off their soon to be purchased toys.  Castro aka Gansgterbilly, Ralph Benitez our Art Director and in the back Jose Uriarte JCUriarte Designs.

The new GI Joe figures are dope compared to the True Heroes line, but they can’t beat the True Heroes five pack for $7.99 it’s the same prize as the GI Joe Figure. What a good brand name can do.

Sick.

This is cool.  I didn’t like Star Trek very much until I saw the new movie.

BumbleBee.

These are sick, the reason why is because as you buy the collection you get a piece of the ring set, so by the time you buy the whole thing you have a full ring along with chairs and crazy accessories.

This collection is one of my favorites I found a couple of these characters for five bucks at the Swap Meet.

This dude looks scary,  it’s funny how close he looks to Christian Bale, this is when you know there was full dedication to this line.

On the way out I saw this guy, El Dumbo.  What happened next? We had a nice lunch then went back to work and later that day I went home, hung out with the homie John, ate some bomb tacos and then headed over to La Cueva for a night of dancing/pistiando .  Hope you enjoyed the post.  Saludos.

DIMEX at the Park

What up Guys, it’s been a while since I truly talk to you guys. I have been mad ass busy with the upcoming line CALIENTE which will be coming out this summer, booking all the shows that we are going to be in, re-arranging my office again for all the bundles of new shirts coming in, keeping the site fresh and updated, the blog, myspace, facebook, twitter, behance, youtube, paying the bills (well sort of) kicking it with my favorite buddy of all time (Julian), staying fit, sleeping as much as I can, working my 8 to 5 job, chillin with the fam., picking up shirts from our printers and most important of all staying true to DIMEX, fresh with new ideas and concepts. This is what I love, this is what I do. If I could only sleep 3 hours a day and be perfectly fine the following day I would do it, but unfortunately there’s no legal drug to keep you awake for so long JEJE. Well enough about the stuff that I have been up to, let’s get to the real deal, NEWS and CHICANO PARK 2009.

Chicano Park was a great success, we got there super early and started the set up, good thing I had the booth set up in my mind already other wise it would of taken me hours to finish. People started getting there super early and walking around the park, the performers also started early they knew this year was going to be better then the last.

The place got packed in no time, there was people walking around buying all kinds of stuff.

After a while of chillin at the booth I decided to bust my round so I took a walk, and found this by my car.

Then This.

This Guy was on his way to the main stage, but couldn’t get there because all the people trying to get a picture of him.

El Baile Del Los Viejitos, one of my all time favorites, I love their masks.

I honestly don’t know what this dance is called, feel free to leave an answer for me in the comment box, JEJE.

My favorite picture of the entire show has to be this one, The best Statue in the USA.

This band closed the show, and it was one of the dopest performances i have seen in a while no wonder the crowd stacked up in front of the stage for them,  the singer was dressed like Tin Tan and danced like him, if anybody knows the name of this band please let me know, I want to be their friends in myspace.  I also shot a lot of the murals on the freeways but will post those later on a posts dedicated to only that.  We are definitely doing this show again and again and again thanks again to all the SD supporters I saw a lot of familiar faces and that really inspired me to keep doing what I do.  GRACIAS with all sincerity.
