Tyler the creator is one of those artists that like to break the status quo in the industry. This video explains what I mean on the full, you guys probably see “oh shit it’s Tyler as a ken doll taking shit to his barbie girlfriend but what I see straight up is “MEMIN PINGUIN”. Now I have been wanting to do a Memin T-Shirt for ever but haven’t done since I am a bit afraid of the consequences but this video for some reason makes me feel that I can put this Mexican character out there. I might do it so be aware for future releases coming very soon. Oh yeah and listen to the song it’s pretty crazy.

INSPIRACION: EL INFIERNO

This has to be one of my favorite movies of all time, not only because it’s super funny but because it shows you how fucked up the mother land really is, it really makes you think about “What the fuck is going to happen?” is this situation going to last forever or is it going to evolve into something so out of control it’s not even going to be imaginable to fix it. This piece came up on one of my favorite blogs yesterday and had to share it with you guys. It’s called “The Conquest Of The New World By Spanish Conquistadors”, it reminds me a lot to the murals by Siqueiros and Orozco but with a modern twist. GRINGOS AT EL AZTECA

Only a few Gringos dare to make the decision on going to a Mexico Vs USA soccer game at the Azteca in Mexico City. I have heard horrible stories of fights, tipped over buses and cups filled with pee flying in the air showering los Gueros. But this group decided to support their National team and weren’t going to turn back, check out this mini video of that same experience at our last 0-0 tie with the USA. I must admit they are fucking brave. Enjoy.

I watched the final and was full of joy when we took the gold. But how do you get to become a gold medal winner. Aside of training very hard since you are very small and a bunch of opportunities lining up to define your future you have to have love for the game, and I believe all of these players representing one country had that during tis competition. PURO CHICALI

The last time I visited Chicali or Mexicali Baja California, it was freakin’ cold as fuck. The summers are probably the worst in the whole nation, but Mexicali is Mexicali and many people have been here for one thing or another. This is the city I stayed in before we “Legally” crossed the USA/Mexico border back in 92′, a lot of my friends and family members still live here, my dad grew up here and this is where i would visit during summer vacations when I was a kid. But last time I came here it was for my uncles cremation/family get together. Puro Chicali’, check out this mini poem/rap, I don’t know what to call it but it’s pretty cool. “Como los Chilangos, que viven en Tijuana donde se va la raza que le saca al caloron.”

FRIDA’S CLOSET

The day I visited the famous Casa Azul De Frida Kahlo I was super excited. I finally got to see some of the true possessions of one of my favorite artists, not only that but I actually got to see where she lived. The layout of the house was amazing full of color and Mexican culture all around. Even though this expo is a bit small you can see the true detail of Frida’s fashion style. In my opinion this is one of my favorite dressers of all time. Enjoy this report on Frida’s Wardrobe. Sales.

CORRIDOS MONDAY: EL PRIMER MINISTRO

A little late but finally here. El Primer Ministro by Gerardo Ortiz, honestly one of my favorite jams from his new album, love the story and aggressiveness of the way it is told, this is story telling the fullest. Corridos are evolving and becoming something else and all thanks to the creation style of the new comers to the game. Chekalo.

HOMELESS WORLD CUP MEXICO 2012

The Homeless World Cup 2012. WTF. Man I wish I would of played, but it seems like the players in the Seleccion had to go a long way to actually make it in the National Team. The story covers the journey of Erick Sandate from Ciudad Juarez, captain and #10 of the Seleccion. Check out this small doc on it by VICE.
