The “Playera Of The Day” has to be “La Batalla” in it’s new shirt color black. “Batalla” was added to the collection two years ago when it was set up for a girls turquoise tee shirt, the design was put together when I did two similar designs from the same template one of them being “Batalla” and the second one of “El Nocturno” the same character dressed in his tuxedo ready for the celebration after a great victory. We can consider the design a classic. Enjoy.

DIMEX COLLECTION 2010 SPRING/SUMMER: FIRST RELEASE-LOS PLEBES

Los Plebes in Cafe PuntiadoLos Plebes in Carbon NegroI couldn’t hold it anymore so at least I’m going to show one of the new designs coming out this Spring. Our first title in the line up is “Los Plebes De La Sierra Y Sus Corridasos” I like to keep my releases a secret until I show them to the whole public but this way at least you know what you will be expecting at the DIMEX Grand Opening on the 24th. This design will be featured, I’m not sure if I’m doing Carbon Negro or Cafe Puntiado for the shirt colors, you pick, hit the twitter up and let me know. Just a reminder this design will be available only at the DIMEX store not any where else and remember there’s a limited run for these and all of the rest of the upcoming titles. Check back for more surprises in the future, I really want to show some images of how the store is actually looking and how the whole thing is going but it’s insane trying to deal with a bunch of stuff at the same time, you know what I mean. DIMEX STORE: UPDATE

So we took the task of remodeling the store our-selves with the intension of leaving it sick looking, like every Mexican we were like “No hay pedo, nosotros lo hacemos” so we did. A whole week painting, cleaning, patching, eating, fooling around, and drinking cheves, the time past so fast and it felt like the advancement on the fixing wasn’t moving anywhere. But it was slowly, this takes time, a lot of ganas and some skill in construction (which we don’t have). After a week in a half I saw a Van chilling next door to the Guasalmex Restaurant (really good food by the way) with a sign that said “Contractor”. So I hit him up and the negotiations started, it turned out to be a “chilango” and what a way to sell himself as the best of the best in the industry, haha, he made a $20 bucket of paint sound like it was the best in the world. After all the talking we finally came to an agreement and he said “we can fix what you want in two days” so me, John and Jess were like “Sick” so the deal went on and the process started. Honestly the store is looking sick, full of new collectible Tees, Sweaters, Hats and Accessories. On Grand Opening Day we’re going to have Aztec Dancers, Raspados, Chill Musica, Good Deals, the presence of “MACHETE” from channel 62′s show Estudio 2 and much more just need to confirm. Afterwards we hit up El Pollo Loco for some pollito and fun times. I’ll keep you guys updated as soon as possible but for now back to painting. Saludos y nos vemos pronto. You might remember Botan from an early post I did last year I believe, I was meaning to take a picture of him to connect the face with the creation that has circulated the world.

The image above is one of the Illustrations that has been bootlegged a million times here and in Mexico, he is the original creator of ”Las Calaquita Shirts” that you have probably seen every where by now whether at the local Swap Meet or in the back window of a car, honestly one of the most iconic images of this time in our industry. He’s a very cool and chill dude, every-time I go I learn a little more about the industry. Thanks for all the great advice Señor.

We also got to see a Sneak Peek on the new Skateboards he’s about to release. A collaboration with Almas From Kinto Sol and Botan, honestly this project came out sick. Hit up Nahui Ohlin to get your Limited Edition Piece.

Like the Comandante Marcos, this is another old school design I created for Chicano Style’s chain of stores.
It’s pretty cool, the only thing is that looking back at the Illustration skills 2 years ago compared with the current ones, I really get blown away by a million jeje, I sucked 2 years ago and two years from now I will look back and say the same thing.
