Very few kids in the world get to meet a professional player, yet play against one. What the Portland Timbers a team from the MLS Soccer League did for a boy who was diagnosed with cancer is something truly amazing, by fulfilling his dream to play against the Portland Timbers. I honestly think all teams should do this during every half time, it’s fun and entertaining for the fans but for the kids it’s a dream come true. Check it out. #TimberWish
Ahuevo, Cinco de Mayo La Batalla a new movie that explains the true story behind the very popular holiday in the USA. I think I see a group of college students getting fucked up in the back while General Zaragoza is commanding his troops. Check out the trailer, I think it’s going to be a pretty good movie. Miralo.
Tyler the creator is one of those artists that like to break the status quo in the industry. This video explains what I mean on the full, you guys probably see “oh shit it’s Tyler as a ken doll taking shit to his barbie girlfriend but what I see straight up is “MEMIN PINGUIN”. Now I have been wanting to do a Memin T-Shirt for ever but haven’t done since I am a bit afraid of the consequences but this video for some reason makes me feel that I can put this Mexican character out there. I might do it so be aware for future releases coming very soon. Oh yeah and listen to the song it’s pretty crazy.
The date is around the corner and the trailers are getting more and more detailed regarding the Man of Steel new Superman Movie, all I got to say is god damn. I see a new Batman like hit coming up this year, what do you think? Comment below plebe and let me know your thoughts, Chekalo.
This has to be one of my favorite movies of all time, not only because it’s super funny but because it shows you how fucked up the mother land really is, it really makes you think about “What the fuck is going to happen?” is this situation going to last forever or is it going to evolve into something so out of control it’s not even going to be imaginable to fix it. Anyways, here are some screenshots I thought were key in the movie. Enjoy.
It was around 2002 when I first heard about Obey Giant aka Shepard Fairey, I connected as soon as I saw his work. His revolutionary imagery inspired me to get deeper into Graphic Design and try to do the best I could to get better. After a while his work took a huge turn into stardom and fame, he was every where. Check out this mini documentary about the beginnings of the OBEY campaign. I wish there was a full movie about his whole story but it would be incomplete since he still well and alive. Check out his work at OBEY.
Daft Punk is coming out with their new album and since that is happening they are releasing a series of mini videos talking about each individual song. This video was aired during the SNL show last weekend and to be honest you only get to hear like 40 seconds of the song and I just want to keep listening. This collaboration between Daft, Pharrell and the legendary Nile Rodgers on guitar it’s going to be wait for it….Legendary. Enjoy the teaser.
I cannot even talk about this movie, you just have to see the trailer. I think it’s going to be the funniest movie this year. Check out the trailer and let me know what you think, for a while I thought this shit was hoax, like the April Fools trailer they made about Pineapple Express part 2. I kinda want a Milkie Way now.
So one day my dad told me to take my old Nikes to the zapatero or shoe maker/fixer, I told him it’s too late for these bad boys they had paid their dues and it was time to retire them. Of course I knew he was messing with me, but then he went on to talk about how shoes lasted forever back in the days, now they tear up all fast and shit and are not worth the money. He used to own one pair and that shit would last him for 2 years, he would walk with them everywhere, fill it up with dirt and water, kick soccer balls and even go into the sea with them but he always had shinny ass shoes. He said he would use this special soap made out of squash and wash his shoes every time they were dirty ass hell. Well I kinda kept the tradition going even when we moved out here but most of my shoes are sneakers now and don’t need that much of the attention. Check out this dude that’s been busy doing this ancient art form for years and has passed on the tradition to his son. Fixing shoes like the shoe maker is a skill that should live on. Shine on.
This piece came up on one of my favorite blogs yesterday and had to share it with you guys. It’s called “The Conquest Of The New World By Spanish Conquistadors”, it reminds me a lot to the murals by Siqueiros and Orozco but with a modern twist. Check it out and google some of his work his name is SANER.
